Conditional Sentences-I would 2 U nit Let’s Learn! ● If + subject + simple paste tense verb, subject + would +infinitive It is used to refer to the present or the future. It suggests that the situation if less probably, improbable or imaginary. We use a simple past tense in the if-clause and would + infinitive in the main clause. To talk about something that is imaginary - If I were you, I would drink some water first. Ex. If Iwere you, Iwould finish my homework first.
